School Days Review

School Days

School Days

I finished watching the series. The last few episodes are much better than the start. Take this with a grain of salt, however.

I mentioned a great deal about the ridiculous events/character descisions when I did this review previously, and how the main character was unlikeable. Well it does continue…but if you can accept or gloss over the very unbelievable events which happen, and just ‘watch’ it without thinking, you may find this anime acceptable.

So…I was opening up my Lexicon Omega audio recording thing because….well it kept on dying and i don’t think i can return it anymore (i’m voiding the warranty by opening it, but you can’t tell that i opened it.)

I turned it upside down, and unscrewed some of the bottom plate’s screws. I then heard a clunk, of something heavy falling down. Once I fully opened the case i found out what it was.

They were metal plates! I thought I had removed the plates which had aided in cooling the mosfets. BUT THEY WEREN’T FOR THAT.

Additionally, the bottom metal plate which came off (in black) also served no purpose.  Actually, it did serve one purpose. To make the product seem more expensive. It’s not to give it a lower center of mass so it doesn’t fall over…I can bump it fairly hard and it doesn’t fall.

I mean, who wants to buy a product which feels as if it’s about to break? Consumers associate weight with a quality product, so that is what they get. It also servers to differentiate this top level product from the bottom level (this is the best of 3 lexicon audio interfaces).

I was thinking of getting a zoom H4n or whatever it’s called…the new one. I have another zoom product which works fine, a guitar pedal. I have not opened that, but I’m sure it’s weight is due to precise engineering, not clever marketing.

If lexicon has another reason for these plates, they should tell me, as I will immediately take down this blog.

“On Your Mark” by Hayao Miyazaki A long time ago i watched an anime music video on youtube…I forgot to favorite it and never saw it again. I found it today, and it is still as moving as it ever was. Watch it full screen with no distractions. Or else.

There is a version of this with an English language song, sung by a Japanese group called “Castle in the air” ….but it is nowhere near as good (I dislike it enough not to even link to it).

If anyone can find a high quality version of this video, please tell me about it!

School Days – Boat No Op

The day before the final episode was scheduled to air, a sixteen-year-old girl killed her father with an axe in Kyoto. In response, TV Kanagawa replaced the episode, which was known to contain similarly violent material, with half an hour of scenery and classical music to avoid association with the murder.

Quote from wikipedia.

The video which replaced the final episode was of a boat. This Youtube video is a parody of the original anime’s OP, and will not make sense unless you’ve seen the op for this anime which is here. Actually, it never made any sense. It also uses much video from the OP of ‘Bokurano’ which is here.

I have joined a ‘group’ blog (just me and ying at the moment), and will probably post on that from now on. It is located at http://fallingrice.blogspot.com

I am considering destroying this blog, not because I am lacking in the drive to continue writing it, but because I think I would do better to write on a blog with other people on it. Since Wensi kicked other contributors besides herself off her blog (and consequentially, deleted all my posts), I only have Hungy/stooph/farn’s quote blog to join. However I will probably leave this blog up purely because if you search ‘wongsta’ on google, this site will come up.

The plan was originally to do only two things:

1 – Go to Allens with my friend to buy a bday present.
2 – Go to a party afterwards.

This is what actually happened
We met at Allens at (1pm). After going to allens with ying to buy the present (~2pm)I followed her home as I had nothing to do for 6 hrs. I realised her mum wasn’t home, and was going to leave as being at her house alone would be very suspicious. Fortunately Stooph decided to go to her house before the party so i had a reason to stay (she was therea bout 3pm). We mainly played…truth or dare, and watched kung fu panda for one hour. It stopped at this point because the disc was bad. Then ying’s mum made some nice pasta for us to eat(about 6pm?).

Since her brother (Matt) was going to another party, he gave us a lift to the station(about 6 something?). He thought that station was on the line to the house, however it was not, so if we did infact take the train, we would have had to change lines. However, the two trains that were going to the city were completely full, due to new years.

Some random dude decided to vandalise the train because…he was angry that he couldn’t go on it? Some great citizen, however, stopped him by grabbing his marker. I decided to get my dad to pick me up, as otherwise we’d be stuck there for a long time waiting for a vacant train. We arrived at the party shortly after (7:30pm?), but it was quite bad since we didn’t know most of the people there. I didn’t drink anything. Apprently, after we ditched the party (~10:30pm) (after about an hour) some drunk dude came along and everyone talked to him.

We went looking for coffee, but none of the good shops were open. Instead, we went back to my house for coffee. At my house (~11pm), ying decided to wear my pants and shirt becuase the dress was cold. This fulfilled the former ‘pants party’ thing i put on facebook – that there would be a party in my pants on new years(~12am)! So unfortunately, i was only able to make two people, Stooph and Ying, come. To my house.

We made omelettes (with too much cheese) becuase….no reason. We watched the fireworks, and prank called a few people. Then they went home(~1am).

What an abrupt ending.

The ability to shoop da woop originated from people who were originially unable to shoop da woop. Then, a random genetic mutation in the DNA enabled Shoop da Woop. This was better suited to fight, as it could shoop the woop, and so was more likely to survive, and hence had a higher fitness (could have more offspring).

There was variation in the population, as some, such as cell, could shoop da woop with a higher power level than others. While these had a higher fitness level, others , who only shot lesser woops with a lower power level, or who could not shoop the woop at all, were at a disadvantage. The selection pressure (that you would lose a fight with someone who COULD shoop da woop) meant that the unshoopables were at a selective disadvantage, and had a low fitness level, so soon became extinct.

These powerful shoop Da Woopers soon went to other populations, creating gene flow. However, due to the enhanced cosmic radiation in these areas, mutations caused these shoop da woopers to become shot da woopers, and soon became how 2 shot web.
